Scrivener

If you are a writer and want to use the computer for creating your stories, poems or novels, you will notice that most writing tools available on the market, even Microsoft Word, don't have specialized features and tools for allowing you to write your stories more efficiently.

Fortunately, there are certain applications which allow you to write any kind of novel, story or poem in the most efficient way possible and in less time. One such application is Scrivener. This Windows program was specially designed for helping you write your stories in an easy and interactive way.

After the application has been installed, the user will first need to select the type of story that he would like to create, which can be either fiction, non-fiction, scripting or miscellaneous. There are several templates available in the application and each of them contains some sample text to help you get started.

The main interface of Scrivener includes a small table of contents, which is displayed in the left part at all times. Thus, the user will be able to easily navigate through chapters and switch from one to another. New items can be easily added to the table of contents by the push of a button.

By accessing the top menu, the user will be able to customize the font type, size and color with ease. After the story has been written, the user can either save it as a template file, so he can modify it later on, or just export it to a wide range of formats, like RTF, DOC, ODT or PDF. Furthermore, the story can be backed up at any moment to a ZIP file.
